In all engineering industries complaints about back pain and low back injuries are very high. Major factor for such back injuries are associated with Load handling tasks. In industries type of such lifting activities in percentage is to extend 77% and bending activity up to 56%.According to US department of labour report back injuries account to be 20% of all injuries and 25% of annual worker compensation goes for such injuries. So one of the important areas of Kinematic And kinetic measurements are useful is load lifting. Different methods have been evolved for carrying out Kinematic measurements, selection depend upon type of study, type of kinematic parameter to obtained merits and demerits of the methods and cost of study. Need of alternative methods which satisfy the study requirements and also compensate the cost leads to a development of "Kinematic Arm” In one of study made by Belli et al(1992) Developed Kinematic arm for three dimensional recording of human movements. They Validate and tested successfully the device. Error values for static quasi-static human motions are less than tracking system and film or video analysis ,Also device is five times cheaper than above two well known methods. Based on the guidelines of study by Belli et al a Kinematic arm has been designed and fabricated for validation testing of positional measurements of human body segments subject to different postures during load lifting. The Kinematic arm consists of four light rigid pipe linked together by three joints. One end of arm is connected to fixed reference point while other end can move freely in the three spatial directions. the free movement is allowed in all spatial directions by orientation of the axes of the three revolute joints. At each joint a potentiometer (multi turn 50 Kilo-ohm) is mounted and connected to an electronic interface to measure the angle between two link elements involved. Three potentiometers are connected in series and fed a constant current from the circuit. Output from potentiometer is amplified and measured and calibrated in terms of angles. Angles a1(t),a2(t),a3(t).measured and by appropriate trigonometric equations can calculate instantaneous position. Equation for velocity and acceleration have been established in order to evaluate the exact performance of kinematic arm for positional measurements Kinematic arm is tested for the static and quasi-static conditions for different body postures successfully. Results obtained are within the range of theoretical estimation of errors.

Campus Placements as we know today is a process involving interview of college students by recruiting companies utilizing institutional resources towards candidate job selection. The same campus placements which are being traditionally conducted by the arrival of HR Team to campus, their pre-placement talk about company and job description with the gradual interview rounds is slowly beginning to shift its perspectives towards a more greener stature. Especially now with the application of modern technology in hiring practices like E-Recruiting or On-line Recruitment, the entire campus recruitment process is also poised to leap towards a rapid change. Therefore, this research paper aims to construct an ideal strategy towards implementing campus placement process in parallel lines of E-Recruiting as well but with a more environment-friendly approach. This on-line campus placement process termed as 'Green Placements' will thrive as a conceptual model focused on to reduce resource wastages, save water, time, space, electricity by preserving the surrounding environment clean and green whilst the placement activity is being conducted at the college.

In medical imaging, the scope of image enhancement is highly challenging. Here digital chest x –ray image are taken in a spatial domain and enhancement of the image is done through histogram equalization method. Histogram equalization is a specific case of the more general class of histogram methods. Histogram Equalization works the best when applied to images with much higher color depth like continuos data or 16 bit gray scale images. In particular, the method can lead to better views of bone structure in X-ray images that are either over or under exposed. An algorithm is proposed to enhance the chest x-ray images using Global Histogram Equalization.

Compound Parabolic Concentrators, Industrial Process heat, Solar Thermal
en
There is a huge potential to deploy solar thermal energy in process heat applications in industrial sectors. Around 50 % of industrial heat demand is less than 250 °C which can be addressed through solar energy. The heat energy requirement of industries like automobile, auto ancillary, metal processing, food and beverages, textile, chemical, pharmaceuticals, paper and pulp, hospitality, and educational institutes etc. can be partially met with solar hybridization based solutions. The automobile industry is one of the large consumers of fossil fuel energy in the world. The automobile industry is major economic growth driver of India and has its 60 % fuel dependence on electricity and remaining on oil based products. With abundant area available on roof top, and need for medium temperature operation makes this sector most suitable for substitution of fossil fuel with renewable solar energy. Auto sector has requirement of heat in the temperature range of 80-140 oC or steam up to 2 bar pressure for various processes like component washing, degreasing, drying, boiler feed water preheating, LPG vaporization and cooling. This paper discusses use of solar energy through seamless integration with existing heat source for a few processes involved in automobile industries. Integration of the concentrated solar thermal technology (CST) with the existing heating system is discussed with a case study for commonly used processes in auto industry such as component washing, degreasing and phosphating. The present study is undertaken in a leading automobile plant in India. Component cleaning, degreasing and phosphating are important processes which are carried out in multiple water tanks of varying temperatures. Temperatures of tanks are maintained by electrical heaters which consumes substantial amount of electricity. Non-imaging solar collectors, also known as compound parabolic concentrators (CPC) are used for generation of hot water at required process temperature. The CPC are non-tracking collectors which concentrate diffuse and beam radiation to generate hot water at required temperature. The solar heat generation plant consists of CPC collectors, circulation pump and water storage tank with controls. The heat gained by solar collectors is transferred through the storage tank to the process. An electric heater is switched on automatically when the desired temperature cannot be reached during lower radiation level or during non-sunny hours/days. This solar heating system is designed with CPC collectors that generate process heating water as high as 90OC. It also seamlessly integrates with the existing system without compromising on its reliability, while reducing electricity consumption drastically. The system is commissioned in April, 2013 and since then it has saved ~ 1,75,000 units of electricity/year and in turn 164 MT of emission of CO2 annually.

In this paper, Laser speckle image processing based on Fast Fourier Transform method for displacement measurement is presented. Capturing Laser speckle images before displacement and after displacement of the specimen is the technique involved in this measurement. The cross correlation is computed by two 2Dimensional Fast Fourier Transforms (one direct and the other is inverse) and a complex multiplication. This is a non-contact, flexible measurement with high accuracy and simple operation. The results are verified by conventional gauge methods.

The World Economic Forum, in conjunction with the Boston Consulting Group, has discharged the aftereffects of its first worldwide review of shoppers' states of mind towards self-driving autos. Our center gatherings, and resulting study of 5,500 worldwide city tenants, uncovers a few astounding conclusions. The principal amazement is that shoppers are boundlessly preferred educated about the theme over tried and true way of thinking proposes. A few administrators at auto organizations I conversed with said that "buyers don't comprehend what self-driving means". Our exploration proposes something else. In our center gatherings, normal shoppers given negligible, nonpartisan provoking, could express utilize cases and suggested advantages, both social and individual, effortlessly. They included working together while out and about, or investing quality energy with their youngsters.

Transport sector is one of the largest contributors of energy related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions globally and is expected to grow 50 percent by 2050. Controlling GHG emission growth of transport sector is necessary in view of limiting the global temperature increase to below 2 degrees Celsius, agreed under Paris Agreement, to avoid extreme Climate Change effects. Further analysis reflects that Electric Vehicles (EV) have great role to play in limiting transport sector emissions. In view of various environmental, climate change and human health related benefits, electric vehicles (EV) is witnessing an increasing trend across the globe, specifically in the developed nations. However, the economics of electric vehicles as well as the physical issues such as charging infrastructure, dependence on grid connected power etc. put a constraint on the fast growth of such vehicles in both, developing and developed economies. Although the Asian developing economies typically have highest growth rate in terms of vehicles usage but due to economic or physical challenges they are unable to deploy the electric vehicles at a swift pace. The principle advantage of battery based electric vehicles is that they are zero-emission at point-of-use. It provides local environmental benefits including cleaner air and reduced noise in urban areas. Overall, EV contributes for the sustainable development of the transport sector and many developed countries have adopted such vehicles on a large scale. Global EV sales were 462,000 during 2015 and it is estimated that EVs will constitute 35% (41 million) of new car sales by 2040. According to the IEA estimates, the US (39%), Japan (16%) and China (12%) are currently the prominent EV stock holding markets globally. This paper includes discussion on various socio economic and environmental benefits of the electric vehicles along with the challenges of its promotion in the developing economies. Further, the paper will also cover the various models for socializing electric vehicles and better adoption as well as policy and other enablers that are crucial for its promotion.

Natural radionuclides of terrestrial origin have very long half – lives or driven from very long – lived parent radionuclides, which have been created in stellar processes before the earth formation. The study of natural radioactivity in marine and coastal environments is of significant importance for better understanding of oceanographic and sedimentological processes. The sampling sites are selected to cover randomly to cover the southern part. The soil samples have been collected in beach sides. In situ gamma measurements were conducted using a high-purity germanium (HPGe) detector (coaxial cylinder of 50.1 mm in diameter and 44 mm in length) with a relative efficiency of 50% and an energy resolution (FWHM) of 1.8 keV at the 1.33 MeV reference transition of 60Co. The measurements shows that the values of the absorbed dose rates in air in the investigated area are lower than the recommended limit by the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effect of Atomic Radiation.

When we say a tree, we are discussing an approach to structure data. The term tree all alone does not as a matter of course demonstrate one particular method for actualizing this structure. Rather it just says that anyway we actualize it, our execution must consider the data to be considered in the general way that a tree structures data. This implies it will be dependent upon you to choose precisely how to execute your trees utilizing C Code. What this implies is that you should characterize some sort in your code for a tree, of which you can then make variables. We will talk about a couple altogether different methodologies, for example, one that uses structs and pointers and another that basically utilizes a standard cluster. The primary of these two ways is the all the more for the most part utilized strategy; the second is incorporated more as an activity in perceiving how to utilize one data structure, the cluster, to execute a drastically diverse structure, the tree. This study explores constructing the tree in structured data.

Due to higher ozone layer depletion potential of HCFC refrigerant, R22 which has been mostly used in house hold refrigeration will be phased out by 2020 as per Montreal Protocol and UNFCCC Regulations. R407C, a zeotropic refrigerant from HFC category is a promising refrigerants in place of R22. Performance evaluation of R407 is required to enhance its application in house hold refrigeration. Hence an experimental investigation is carried out to understand the heat transfer characteristics during flow boiling of R407C in a smooth horizontal tube of 13.386 mm inner diameter and 2m length. The experiment is performed under the operating conditions; (i) mass flux range 100 to 300 kg s-1m-2; (ii) heat flux within range 2 to 7 kWm-2; (iii) temperature range at inlet to test section -100C to +100C; (iv) average vapor quality within test section from 0.05 to 0.95.The effect of heat flux, mass flux, vapor quality, temperature glide on heat transfer coefficient, during evaporation of R407C are examined.

Compacted Graphite Iron
en
The invention of Compacted Graphite Iron and documentation of Compacted Graphite Iron (C.G.I.) were made during pioneering research on production techniques in the late 1940s. They found that when the residual magnesium or cerium content was insufficient to stabilize a fully spheroidal graphite then the intermediate form of graphite is formed which is Compacted Graphite or vermicular appeared in the microstructure. It was up to 1960s that CGI began to be recognized as a modern material combining much of the strength and stiffness of ductile iron with the thermal conductivity and castability of grey cast iron.Today the result is that where reduced weight and improved performance particularly for automobile cylinder blocks and heads; where mechanical and physical properties of CGI can contribute to meeting the conflicting requirements of weight reduction, improved performance, reduced emissions, recyclability and cost reduction there is tremendous demand for Compacted Graphite Iron to substitute grey iron or ductile iron castings.

3D printing is a form of additive manufacturing technology where a three dimensional object is created by laying down successive layers of material. It is mechanized method whereby 3D objects are quickly made on a reasonably sized machine connected to a computer containing blueprints for the object. As 3D printing is growing fast and giving a boost to product development, the factories doing 3D printing need to continuously meet the printing requirements and maintain an adequate amount of inventory of the filament. As the manufactures have to buy these filaments from various vendors, the cost of 3D printing increases. To overcome the problem faced by the manufacturers, small workshop owners, the need of 3D filament making machine arises. This project focuses on designing and fabricating a portable fused deposition 3D printer filament making machine with cheap and easily available components to draw 1.75 mm diameter ABS filament.

The theoretical study of steady, one-dimensional, isentropic, compressible fluid flow suggests that a convergent-divergent passage is required for accelerating a compressible fluid to supersonic velocities. It also reveals that along with pressure, temperature of the compressible fluid continuously decreases along the flow passage. Air is also a compressible fluid which is freely and abundantly available. Keeping these facts in mind the possibility of obtaining supersonic flow with the help of compressed air is first studied theoretically. A convergent divergent nozzle is designed and developed for obtaining supersonic flow of air. An experiment is carried out for various back pressures for verifying supersonic flow and measuring the exit temperature of air. It is observed that supersonic flow can be obtained with minimum back pressure of 1 bar. Exit temperature of air can be varied by changing the back pressure of the nozzle. Temperature drop of air as high as 18.23 0C could be obtained. These factors prove the potential of supersonic air jet as a good and environmentally friendly cooling medium especially for localized cooling applications.

A high-power Gaussian Whistler propagating in a magnatoplasma becomes self-focused because of (i) ponderomotive force and (ii) nonuniform heating nonlinearities (i) being dominant for t << T and (ii) being dominant for t > tE. On short time scale (t << tE ) whistlers of all frequencies can be focused (the self – focusing length is very large for ω= /2 and decreases rapidly on both sides), whereas on the long time scale (t > tE) only high frequency whistlers (ω> /2) are focused. At very high powers the plasma is depleted almost completely from the axial region and self-focusing does not occur, rather, defocusing takes place. A plane uniform whistler of high intensity is seen to be unstable for small scale fluctuations, i.e., it must break up into filaments in course of it propagation. The growth rate increases with decreasing scale length of perturbation and is seen to be a saturating function of power density of the beam.

The current study presents a general optimization procedure that could be used in designing of various structural applications. To validate the performance of the proposed procedure, a real life application of a custom welded I-Beam gantry crane is selected. The crane is composed of three rectangular plates with the same length and different thicknesses and widths welded together by full penetration welds over the span length to form an I-Beam profile. The thicknesses and widths of plates are to be optimized to have the minimum cross section area while respecting yield, buckling, deflection and fatigue criteria. A mathematical procedure based on Timoshenko beam theory and Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA) in combination with the Genetic Algorithm (GA) is presented, and a Mathcad code is implemented to find the optimal I-Beam cross section dimensions. Nine examples are introduced for 8, 12 and 20 m crane span subjected to 10, 20 and 40-toncapacities. It is noticed that the optimized I-section configurations always show narrow and thick lower flange, wider and thinner upper flange and tall and very thin web. Theupper flange local buckling and the lateral buckling limits are achieved for all nine cases, 75% of cases for the web buckling limit, about 33% of cases for the fatigue and yield limits whereas the maximum deflection constraint is never critical. The obtained results were verified using ANSYS Workbench software with a 3D Solid Finite Element model and shown good agreement, which confirms that the proposed procedure is efficient.

The rising population has not only increased the fresh water demand but also increased the volume of wastewater generated. Increasing need for water has resulted in the emergence of domestic wastewater application for agriculture and its relative use. In the present study a field experiment was conducted during 2012-13 and 2013-14 in which spinach (Spinacia oleracia) were irrigated with well water (WW) and domestic treated sewage water (DTSW). The use of the DTSW has shown improvement in the physicochemical properties of the soil, yield along with the nutrient status as compared to the application of WW. Post harvest pH of the soil in DTSW was in the range 7.85 whereas it was 7.93 in WW. EC and OC were found 0.43dS m-1 and 5.41 g kg-1 respectively in DTSW whereas it was 0.31 dS m-1 and 5.27 g kg-1 respectively in WW. NPK were found 279.6, 17.22 and 435.70 kg ha-1 respectively in DTSW whereas it was found, 266.8, 16.44 to 428.1 kg ha-1 respectively in WW. The physical properties of the soil like BD and HC observed 1.32 Mg m-3and 1.50 cm hr-1 respectively in DTSW and it was found 1.42 Mg m-3 and 1.54 cm hr-1 respectively in WW. The content of micronutrients and heavy metals in soil and plant due to irrigation of DTSW were well below the phytotoxicity limits in both soil and plant. The findings give applicable advice to commercial farmers and agricultural researchers for proper management and use of treated domestic wastewater for agricultural purpose.

Systems later on should have enough data transmission to bolster applications, similar to sight and sound, which require bigger transfer speed. Exchanging will change the way systems are outlined. These progressions will augment profitability. Exchanging innovation is expanding the proficiency and rate of systems. This innovation is making current frameworks all the more effective. Numerous systems are encountering transmission capacity deficiencies. There are a few purposes behind this including: an expansion in activity, since systems have such a large number of clients, Amount of information between customer/server applications, and the wasteful movement examples of generally systems.

Evaporative cooler operating on solar energy is a viable option in places where there is scarcity of grid power and is also useful for short term storage of farm products. This paper analyzes the performance of a commercial cooler operated on the solar power and its cost benefit analysis. The cooler is operated on grid power in first part and on solar power in second part. The saturation efficiency, cooling capacity and the energy consumption is calculated in both the cases. The efficiency ranged from 41 to 70 %, cooling capacity from 4625 to 12079 kJ/h and energy consumption from 0.113 to 0.184 kW. The cost benefit analysis gives a payback period of about 11.5 seasons for the cooler if used for only comfort. If the cooler is used continuously for short term storage of farm products, then the payback period is estimated to be of 21.5 months. The optimization of solar panel, battery and inverter cost is suggested to have the early pay back of the investment cost. The cooler installation is recommended in place where there is shortage or frequent fluctuation of grid power.

Air conditioning requirement, which consumes more than 30% of the state procured power from different sources, which can be save and utilize for agriculture sector and other constructive needs. In Telangana State every commercial, administrative and elite residential block is equipped with air conditioning system where the temperature ranges between 32-430C in summer season. Telangana State is attracting the world class business investors. This design can caters the world class needs therefore this paper explore the design and performance of solar power air-conditioning system, which is integrated with invertors, PV panels, solar charger and batteries. This design can be used in non-electrified rural arid areas to avoid the expenses of supplying electricity. This research project begins with the cooling load calculations for the selected space ideally whose dimensions are assumed to be one tone of refrigeration (3.5kW). Considering the basic parameters of cooling the photovoltaic cells has been deduced and necessary connections are arranged. To acquire the inlet and outlet temperatures of compressor, evaporator and condenser, data logging procedure is employed. The input power for this system as well as coefficient of performance for above said climatic conditions can be deduced. The COP varies from two to four for this system and these results are compared with the convectional system performance they both match with each other considerably.

Constructed wetlands are systems of artificial wastewater treatment which consists of shallow ponds or channels that have been planted with aquatic plants. The treatment is based on the natural, biological, physical and chemical treatment of wastewater. The technique is reported to be cost effective as compared to other methods. The constructed wetlands have impermeable clay or synthetic coatings and artificial structures for controlling the direction of flow, liquid retention time and the water level. However, there are certain limitations of constructed wetland system, which need improvement for its wide adoptability. As such the effort was made to assist the constructed wetland system with attached growth system with the aim to design an economical and user friendly waste water treatment option for the small community. The laboratory scale model was fabricated using GI sheet of thickness 0.5 mm. The overall capacity of the model was 275 L. The laboratory scale reactor model consisted of four compartments out of which first three compartments were based on attached growth system and the fourth compartment acted as constructed wetland reactor. All the three compartments were packed with different types of artificial, semi-artificial and natural media. The fourth compartment consisted of media packed from bottom as aerocon stone layers 03 in numbers followed by snail shell, followed by a soil layer of 80 mm thick which holds the plants in rows. The reactor was operated as continuous flow reactor with varying detention time and change of different type of media packed in the reactor. The performance of Customized Constructed Wetland reactor was observed under various operating conditions for removal of BOD, COD and TS parameters. The paper presents the details regarding the development of the reactor model, operation of the reactor model and results obtained during the course of study. The paper also cover the discussion regarding the improved performance of reactor noted during the study and adoptability of the developed reactor model for community waste treatment.

The access to digital data by the users has increased in recent times with the advent of data communication technologies and its popularization. The data which is in digital form has to pass through insecure channels, for example when a user accesses the Internet, the privacy of data becomes a major issue. The area of Information Security has to play a crucial role when it comes to protecting the privacy of digital data. Cryptography is one such part of Information Security field where a sender’s message gets encrypted and the message gets decrypted at the receiver’s end. From time to time, various cryptographic schemes have been developed among which the Private Key Cryptography and Public Key Cryptography techniques are prominent. Moreover many special Signature Schemes which are part of cryptographic protocols have been providing security in dealing with digital transactions. This paper focuses on the use of modern cryptographic schemes and their importance in digital data communication system.

With the growing scope of the E-commerce industry, a recommender system places a critical role in predicting correct entity to the user. Accuracy and degree of trust are most important parameters of a recommender system. Many recommender algorithms are proposed in the literature to enhance the accuracy of recommendations to the user. This paper is focused on enhancing the stability of recommender system using genetic and repetitive smoothening approach. Stability determines the degree of trust by the user to use the items recommended by a recommender system. SVD and slope one recommenders systems are used along with the proposed approach and it has been shown that stability is enhanced using the genetic-repetitive algorithm. Genetic approach has shown significant improvements in the field of research and is considered one of the robust techniques.

Tapping operation which refers to production of internal threads forms an integral part of any machine shop and it is intended to provide semi permanent fastening to the components of product so as to lend themselves for repairs and replacements. Though various methods of internal threading are available such as internal threading by milling, grinding or forming but internal threading by metal cutting which employs a tapping tool is indeed the mostly used for products where accuracy forms the base of evaluation. Last few decades have seen the growth of automobile industries and has resulted in development of its allied operations of which tapping is one of the crucial operation performed. The conventional tapping operation which surely involves rotating the tool and feeding past the pre drilled hole to create the contours called as internal threads and this is followed by withdrawal of tapping tool by reversing it with aid of rotational energy. The present paper attempts to design and analyze a tapping tool which will have no requirement of reversing of tool at the end of cutting operation which is essentially done by changing the design of conventional solid tap. The solid tapping tool is divided into two parts along the longitudinal axis and a mechanism is prompted to give the two parts actuation which would shrink at the end of cutting operation to be dragged out of hole without damaging the machined surface and providing the diametrical flexibility to engulf other diameters to be machined. This tapping tool with diametrical flexibility is designed in CAD tool named as CATIA V5 and efficiently analyzed by using FEA technique which is the working phenomenon for ANSYS.

The study was conducted at University of Gujrat during 2015 with an objective to explore the effects of dust on Free Space Optics (FSO) communication. Growing pollution and dust gales motivated studies we presented in this paper. In this paper analysis of the influence of dust on free space optics communication is presented. We focused our studies on Lahore as it is polluted city of Punjab and made a comparison with dust effects in Rahimyar Khan Region. Dense dust consists of large dust particles that raise from Earths sphere and whose atmospheric intensification values are high enough to affect FSO communication links. Dust storm research is based on visibility data. In order to test visibility data, we made calculations of atmospheric conditions for different dust conditions. Visibility of wave is calculated using weather spark. As it is related with the optical attenuation, so we also calculated optical attenuation of dust particles due to influence of dust particles and compared it with that of Rahimyar Khan.

Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), flow velocity, SOLTEQ Sedimentation Tank
en
Over the past three decades, Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), fundamentally based on pattern matching principles, has seen a rapid growth in its usage as a flow measurement technique. PIV is a ‘digital’ tracking process to measure the time taken for water to move from one point to the other. The particle displacements can be ascertained by measuring the movement of the fluid of interest from the images captured by a camera. In this study, PIV is employed to measure surface flow velocity. The flow velocity was obtained by analyzing the series of captured images using MatPIV codes. The experiment was carried out at Swinburne Sarawak Fluid Lab. Digital SLR camera model used is Nikon D40X which is capable of taking 5 frames per second. Various tracer particles were used for the experiments include food dye, beads and ping pong balls. The experiments were conducted in a SOLTEQ Sedimentation Tank. Through the implementation of a standardized correction factor, the corrected PIV velocity has an error margin less than 5% which is deemed to be fairly accurate. The PIV velocity (Vpiv) results showed to be in good agreement with the actual velocity (Vactual).

Fuzzy Sets; Mixed integer nonlinear programming; k-phase Erlang Distribution; Reduced Chi-square Distribution; - cut membership function
en
This paper, we develops a nonlinear programming approach to construct the membership function of the performance measure in bulk arrival queueing system , in that the arrival and service rates are fuzzy numbers. The basic idea is transform to a “Generalized k – phase Erlang Fuzzy queue with infinite capacity to a family of conventional Generalized k – phase Erlang Service queue with infinite capacity by applying - cut approach, and a pair of mixed integer nonlinear programs are formulated to calculate the upper and lower bound of the system performance measure at the different possibility level of . For practice use, the defuzzification of performance measures is also provided via Robust ranking method and carried out the defuzzification performance (Optimization) using Chi square distribution of the goodness fit and to analyze the interval of confidence optimality. A numerical example is included.

Welcome to the main portion of a month to month highlight where I investigate how open source programming and the open source way are utilized as a part of the computerized humanities. Each month I will examine open source instruments you can use in your advanced humanities research and a few humanities research extends that are utilizing open source devices today. I'll additionally cover news about how straightforwardness and open trade, and alternate standards of the open source way, are being connected to the humanities. How about we begin with a clarification of the computerized humanities. The computerized humanities is the place conventional humanities grant—or, the scholastic investigation of expressions, dialect, history, and so forth—meets the advanced age. By utilizing innovation as a part of new and inventive ways, advanced humanities researchers can make research extends that investigate themes in ways that were unrealistic (or were to a great degree relentless endeavors) before PCs.

Solid State Process, Friction, Forging
en
Friction welding is a solid state welding processes in which the weld is obtained by the heat generated due to forging and friction. Now a day’s eco-friendly joining of dissimilar materials is the need of the industries. The advantages of friction welding process are reduction in production time and cost saving. Friction welding is classified into two types. One type is Inertia drive friction welding and the other is Continuous drive friction welding. In continuous drive friction welding one of the work pieces is held stationary while the other is held for a certain rotating speed. The two work pieces are brought together under certain friction pressure for a certain period of time known as friction time. Then, the rotation is stopped and upset pressure is applied for a certain upset time. Then, the spindle is disengaged and the component is unloaded. In Inertia drive friction welding one part is held stationary while the other is clamped in the chuck which is attached to the flywheel. The flywheel and chuck is rotated for a certain seed to store a predetermined energy. In this paper, review of friction welding on different materials and their weld ability has been discussed in brief.

Sea water intrusion, Aquifer vulnerability mapping, GIS, artificial recharge
en
Salt water intrusion into coastal aquifers is potentially a major problem in the coastal region of Muthupettai block in Thiruthuraipoondi taluk (Thiruvarur District, Tamil Nadu), hence in order to assess the vulnerability area, ground water study should be done. By the water quality variations sea water mixing index is assessed. Seawater mixing index is used to describe the vulnerability area and the extension of intrusion over the study area. Thematic maps of factors influencing the sea water intrusion were prepared and overlaid using Geographical Information System (GIS). By the vulnerability mapping, the suitable area for the remediation technique of sea water intrusion that should be practiced in the study area will be decided. Rain water harvesting and artificial recharge techniques are more useful as a tool in remediation of salt water intrusion. Estimation of surplus run-off is also very important in planning artificial recharge schemes.

Satellite imagery paves way to obtain tangible information through remote sensing techniques. It is necessary to classify the image in order to extract the features. There exist various classification techniques and algorithms to retrieve various features from imagery. As the technology development proceeds in a faster track it is necessary to compensate its advancements by developing new techniques for feature retrieval. As far as high resolution satellite imagery are concerned object based feature retrieval and texture based feature retrieval techniques are gaining its importance. The texture based feature retrieval has various techniques involved in it, among which Haralick’s texture parameters has much importance. Thereby object based technique also has its own way of algorithms and processes for feature retrieval. The eCognition software provides a platform for combining texture and object based technique. It is well known from various journals that object based technique is best for classifying high resolution imagery. Thus the image is primarily segmented into objects for classification. The Haralick’s texture parameters which serve well in classification of urban land cover is chosen by computing statistical analysis. Finally the chosen texture parameter is adopted in the classification of the objects. The classified imagery is checked for accuracy and a high accuracy of 94.5% is obtained.

Air permeability, flow numerical simulation, thick foams
en
From measured data are determined permeability parameters of thick perforated foam samples, used as car seats cushions. Parameters are used for numerical flow simulations in foam samples. Model of detailed geometry gives good view about detailed flow field (pressure and velocity) in foam volume, influenced by perforations and grooves. However, simulated flow is several times different from measured one. The main flow is through perforations (99%) and flow through foam is of two orders lower. Using homogenous geometry with “averaged” permeability parameters, evaluated from measured values, the coincidence of measured and simulated flow is very good, difference of 1-5%. However, it is not possible to get any details of flow in foam volume. Using inlet layer, the flow is decreasing, first in perforations and the ratio between perforation and foam flows is more balanced.

Shearing is the process to cut sheets using pair of blades, by applying shear stress along the thickness of the sheet. Shearing happens by extreme plastic deformation followed by breaking which propagates deeper into the thickness. The upper blade is fixed to the ram assembly that moves vertically and lower knife is fixed in the stationary table. This project is rooted on the necessity of industry to develop a shearing machine for cutting 5mm thick stainless steel sheets. In this project we will design a CAD model of shearing machine and analyze using FEA technique.

Machine Translation, Word Sense Disambiguation, Semantic Web, Ontology

en
Machine Translation has been an area of linguistic research for almost more than two decades now. But it still remains a very challenging task for devising an automated system which will deliver accurate translations of the natural languages. However, great strides have been made in this field with more success owing to the development of technologies of the web and off late there is a renewed interest in this area of research. Technological advancements in the preceding two decades have influenced Machine Translation in a considerable way. Several MT approaches including Statistical Machine Translation greatly benefitted from these advancements, basically making use of the availability of extensive corpora. Web technology web3.0 uses the semantic web technology which represents any object or resource in the web both syntactically and semantically. This type of representation is very much useful for the computing systems to search any content on the internet similar to lexical search and improve the internet based translations making it more effective and efficient. In this paper we propose a technique to improve existing statistical Machine Translation methods by making use of semantic web technology. Our focus will be on Tamil and Tamil to English MT. The proposed method could successfully integrate a semantic web technique in the process of WSD which forms part of the MT system. The integration is accomplished by using the capabilities of RDFS and OWL into the WSD component of the MT model. The contribution of this work lies in showing that integrating a Semantic web technique in the WSD system significantly improves the performance of a statistical MT system for a translation from Tamil to English. In this paper we assume the availability of large corpora in Tamil language and specific domain based ontologies with Tamil semantic web technology using web3.0. We are positive on the expansion and development of Tamil semantic web and subsequently infer that Tamil to English MT will greatly improve the disambiguation concept apart from other related benefits. This method could enable the enhancement of translation quality by improving on word sense disambiguation process while text is translated from Tamil to English language. This method can also be extended to other languages such as Hindi and Indian Languages.

With the growth in digital world, it is becoming more important to find a method toprotect the security of digital media. An image watermarking model based on visual secretsharing (VSS) is proposed for protection of ownership. In the embedding phase, thewatermark is first divided by VSS into two parts, a hiding watermark and a secret watermark. Then only the hiding watermark is embedded into the original image and the secretwatermark is reserved for watermark extracting by the owner. In the extracting phase, thehiding watermark is extracted from the watermarked image first and then directlysuperimposed on the secret watermark to recover the watermark information. Digitalwatermarking has been proposed as a possible brick of such protection systems. However, application of watermarking for multimedia content protection in realistic scenarios posesseveral security issues.A digital watermarking technique is used to generate meaningful shares. The secret imageshares are watermarked with different cover images and are transmitted. At the receiving side, the cover images are extracted from the shares and stacked one by one which reveals the secretimage progressively. Digital watermarking using visual cryptography provides improved securityfor encrypting secret images.

Detection and tracking of moving objects in video is essential for many computer vision applications and it is considered as a challenging research issue due to dynamic changes in background, illumination, object size and shape. Many traditional algorithms fails to detect and track the moving objects accurately, this paper proposes a robust method, to detect and track moving objects based on the combination of background subtraction and Orthogonalized Fisher’s Discriminant (OFD). Background subtraction detects the foreground objects on subtracting frame by frame basis and updating the background model recursively. Orthogonalized Fisher’s Discriminant projects high dimensional data onto a one dimensional space with the highest recognizability, which speedup the detection and tracking process and also preserves the structure of the objects resulting high accuracy. The proposed method is tested on standard datasets with complex environments and experimental results obtained are encouraging.

Tracking of moving objects in video sequences are essential for many computer vision applications & it is considered as a challenging research issue due to dynamic changes in objects, shape, complex background, illumination changes and occlusion. Many traditional tracking algorithms fails to track the moving objects in real-time, this paper proposes a robust method to overcome the issue, based on the combination of particle filter and Principal Component Analysis (PCA), which predicts the position of the object in the image sequences using stable wavelet features, which in turn are extracted from multi scale 2-D discrete wavelet transform. Later, PCA approach is used to construct the effective subspace. Similarity degree between the object model and the prediction obtained from particle filter is used to update the feature vector to handle occlusion and complex background in video frames. Experimental results obtained from the proposed method are encouraging.

At the point when white light is gone through a crystal, the rainbow on the other side uncovers a rich palette of hues. Scholars from the Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw have demonstrated that in models of the Universe utilizing any of the quantum hypotheses of gravity there must likewise be a "rainbow" of sorts, made out of various forms of space. The instrument predicts that rather than a solitary, regular space, particles of various energies basically sense marginally altered forms thereof.

Potential of Micro Wind Turbine, Power Coefficient (Cp), Wind speed in shroud.
en
The growing demand for electrical energy for industrial and domestic use, coupled with the limited amount of available fossil fuel reserves and its negative effects on the environment, have made it necessary to seek alternative and renewable energy sources. The use of renewable energy is promoted worldwide to be less dependent on conventional fuels and nuclear energy. Therefore research in the field is motivated to increase efficiency of renewable energy systems. This study aimed to study potential of micro wind turbine and velocity profile through shroud for low wind speeds. Although there is a greater inclination to use solar panels because of the local weather conditions, there are some practical implications that have place the use of solar panels in certain areas to an end. The biggest problem is panel stealing. Also, in some parts of the country the weather is more appropriate to apply wind turbines. Thus, this study paying attention on the design of a new concept to improve wind turbines to be appropriate for the low wind speeds in India. The concept involves the implementation of a concentrator and diffuser to a wind turbine, to increase the power coefficient. Although the wind turbine was not tested for starting speeds, the realization of the shroud should contribute to improved starting of the wind turbine at lower wind speeds. The configuration were not manufactured, but simulated with the use of a program to obtain the power production of the wind turbine over a range of wind speeds. These values were compared to measured results of an open wind turbine developed. The most important topic at hand when dealing with a shrouded wind turbine is to find out if the overall diameter or the blade diameter of the turbine should be the point of reference. As the wind turbine is situated in a shroud that has a larger diameter than the turbine blades, some researchers believe that the overall diameter should be used to calculate the efficiency. The benefits of shrouded wind turbines are discussed.

Ferrocement, arch structures, flexural behaviour and hexagonal wire mesh
en
Arch structures have been utilized through the ages, beginning in the ancient civilizations of Greece, Egypt and Rome, to present day with their common use in bridges. Arches are well known for the ability to carry loads spanning large areas. Also now a day’s Ferrocement is being used extensively for various applications where use of normal concrete is hard to fulfil the present day requirements. In this paper experimental studies are carried out to understand the flexural behaviour of Reinforced concrete beams of grade M20 with HYSD reinforcement and Ferrocement hollow beams of cement to sand ratio of 1:3 and water cement ratio of 0.4. A total of four beams were cast in which two are straight beams and another two are arched beams. In that two straight beam, one is reinforced concrete beam with minimum reinforcement and another one is Ferrocement hollow beam and in two arch beams, one is reinforced concrete beam and other is Ferrocement hollow beam. All beams are rectangular in cross-section of size 200 x 200 mm and the span length is 2500 mm. The arch beam is provided with a rise at centre of 0.8 m. The Ferrocement beam is made of mortar with hollow cross section using hexagonal wire mesh with thickness of 40 mm and all the specimens are cured for 28 days. Flexural tests are carried out on conventional RC beam and Ferrocement hollow beams for simply supported condition. The test results are presented in terms of load deflection behaviour, ultimate load, cracking load and crack pattern with respect to reinforced concrete beam and Ferrocement hollow beam.

Welding of magnesium alloys influence a great effect on magnesium application expansion, especially in marine and aerospace where large-size, complex components are required. Due to specific physical properties of magnesium, its welding requires great control. In general, the solid-state nature of friction stir welding (FSW) process has been found to produce a low concentration of defects. Mechanical properties of friction stir welded joints are decreases than base material, so to enhance the mechanical properties of welded portion, In the present research additional SiC particulates were incorporated in the weld interface of friction stir welding of Magnesium alloy AZ31B. Silicon Carbide has been added as reinforcement by creating separate geometry, at the edges where the welding is interface with 4 different volume proportions such as 10%, 15%, 25% and 30%. Tool Steel of H13 grade has been used as friction stir welding tool. Rotational Speed of 1400 RPM and Transverse Speed of 25 mm/min were selected. Joined Mg Alloy AZ31B alloy plates were evaluated for their mechanical properties under two different conditions, i.e in the un-reinforced welded condition and reinforced welded conditions. The results of the study revealed that the mechanical properties of the SiC particulates added Mg alloy AZ31B welded joints are superior in all four proportions of SiC, compared to un-reinforced Mg alloy AZ31B welded joints. Microstructural examination of the welded joints was conducted using Optical microscope and revealed that distribution of SiC particles producing increased weld strength. The comparison of the microstructures and mechanical properties of unreinforced Friction stir welded AZ31 with those of SiC reinforced FS-welded joints showed that the addition of SiC particles decreased the grain size and increased the strength.

Experimental Investigation,Combustion Characteristics,Homogenous Charge Compression Ignition Engine.
en
In diesel compression ignition engine, simultaneous reduction of NOx and PM is extremely challenging task. The most favorable solution for this is HCCI. It is an impulsive auto ignition of very lean air fuel mixture at multiple sites. It has advantages of both CI and SI engines. It also gives higher thermal efficiency like CI engines, higher ROHR, minimum DOC and has no flame propagation and mainly it has simultaneous control over NOx as well as PM. The combustion of homogeneous mixture in HCCI combustion helps in reducing DOC because of higher ROHR. The present experiment is conducted on engine having two cylinders; they are made to operate on HCCI and conventional CI mode respectively. Both DI and PI systems were used simultaneously to investigate the performance characteristics. The toughest part is to prepare homogeneous mixture for combustion. As the diesel is a low volatile fuel, the preparation of homogeneous mixture is difficult therefore diesel vaporizer comes into picture. EGR is used to control the ROHR. To investigate the combustion characteristics experiment was performed at different relative air fuel ratios (λ). The DOC and ROHR is increases with increasing λ. EGR dilutes the homogeneous mixture and leads to minimum NOx emission by keeping maximum temperature in cylinder low. The increased boost pressure is responsible for short DOC and high rate of combustion. Also the indicated mean effective pressure is improved by 3% by DI method as compared to PI in HCCI.

Commercial vehicle washing businesses have gained popularity in urban Ghana. Most vehicle washing bays operating in the Cape Coast Metropolis rely on Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) for their water supply. With increasing vehicular numbers, the pressure on the limited safe water quantities is likely to increase. There is the need to regulate the operations of the commercial vehicle washing industry to ensure water conservation and its associated environmental and social impacts. This study is aimed at assess the water-use and conservation strategies in the commercial vehicle washing industry in the Cape Coast Metropolis. The study focused on all the sixteen (16) commercial vehicle washing bays in the Cape Coast metropolis which are registered with and certified by the Metropolitan Assembly and are also members of the Vehicle Washing Bay Operators Association, Cape Coast Branch. Data was collected through the use of pre-tested questionnaire and interview guide as well as personal observation and measurement. A total of Thirty-two (32) questionnaires were distributed to the General Managers and Operation Managers of all the 16 washing bays in the metropolis. In addition, officials of Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA) and Central Regional office of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) were interviewed. Trained Research Assistants were assigned to each vehicle washing bay for one week including Saturdays and Sundays to count the number of vehicles washed daily and the quantity of water used for washing. The study revealed that the most common technique used by the washing bays is the manual and semi-automatic washing process. On the average, the quantity of water required for washing vehicles ranges between 162.0 litres for saloon vehicles and 532.0 litres for tipper trucks. A minimum of 96 vehicles are washed daily utilizing approximately 19,346.00 litres (19.346 m3) of water. There are no water efficiency and wastewater reclamation regulations in place for the vehicle washing industry. It is concluded that the existing commercial vehicle washing facilities in use does not ensure efficient water use and conservation.

Android, Security, Privacy Leakage, Defense App, Spy Camera.
en
A number of android security and privacy vulnerabilities have been exposed in past several years. However, the mobile malware and privacy leakage remain a big threat to mobile phone security and privacy. It has been observed that phone camera would become a traitor in such attacks by capturing photos or videos secretly. Secret photography is not only immoral but also illegal due to invasion of privacy. Phone users themselves could also become victims and if the phone camera is exploited by malicious spy camera app, it may cause serious security and privacy problems. Most of the existing mobile antivirus apps are unable to monitor such camera based attacks. Hence, we demonstrate two camera based attacks through our proposal namely, Remote controlled real time monitoring Attack like Screen unlocking Attack, SMS Attack. We also propose a light weight defense scheme as a countermeasure for the camera attacks that can protect android phones against harmful spy Camera attacks.

Cloud computing is a rising technology which provider an assortment of opportunities for online distribution of resources or services. The most effective advantage of using cloud computing is higher availability of services with less cost and simple scalability. While the storage space of shared data on remote servers is not a new development, current development of cloud computing validates a more careful look at its actual consequences involving privacy and confidentiality issues. As users no longer actually possess the storage of their data, traditional cryptographic primitives for the purpose of data protection cannot be directly accepted. In particular, simply downloading all the data for its integrity confirmation is not a realistic explanation due to the expensiveness in I/O and transmission cost across the network. Besides, it is often not enough to detect the data corruption only when contacting the data, as it does not offer users correctness assurance for those un-accessed information and might be too late to recover the data loss or damage. To fully make sure the data integrity and save the cloud users’ calculation resources as well as online burden, it is of critical importance to allow public auditing service for cloud data, so that users may choice to an independent third party auditor (TPA) to audit the contract out data when needed. The TPA, who has expertise and abilities that users do not, can occasionally check the honesty of all the data stored in the cloud on behalf of the users, which provides a much more better and reasonable way for the users to ensure their storage rightness in the cloud. In a word, allowing public auditing services will play an important role for this emerging cloud market to become fully recognized; where users will need ways to evaluate risk and gain hope in the cloud.

Due to rise in unleashed industrial development, our world is now engulfed by solid wastes. In that huge pile of wastes, plastic is one of the prime culprits for degrading our nature. The used plastics (which are not recycled) are either end up in oceans or landfills and continue to create environmental problems. On regular basis, thousands of tonnes of plastic waste is being created all around the world. In some cases, recycling plastic is costlier than using virgin plastic. Hence there is a necessity to create a situation in which adequate price for recycling plastic must come into play. Such type of situation can be created by using plastic as a primary construction material for small houses. The main objective of the study is to show how plastic as a construction material can reduce the stacks of junk plastic piles around the globe. Along with that how it can reduce the time and labor required for construction and also help to reduce the casualties during natural calamities like earthquake and to understand the ‘total plastic’ construction phenomenon with its advantages and disadvantages. Today there are some companies which are trying to use plastic as a primary construction material but none of them tried for the total plastic approach. The studies have shown that total plastic approach can eventually reduce the recycling and implementation costs of waste plastic, the time consumed and labor required for plastic recycling. Also to understand the actual practical situation of using plastic houses and required structure and method for shelters made out of such material were analyzed using FEA software. The problems like fireproofing and base development were also studied.

Folks need the best for their kids' training and regularly grumble about extensive class sizes and the absence of individual consideration. Goren Gordon, a manmade brainpower analyst from Tel Aviv University who runs the Curiosity Lab there, is the same. He and his wife invest as much energy as they can with their kids, however there are still times when their children are separated from everyone else or unsupervised. At those times, they'd like their kids to have a friend to learn and play with, Gordon says. That is the situation, regardless of the possibility that that buddy is a robot. Working in the Personal Robots Group at MIT, drove by Cynthia Breazeal, Gordon was a piece of a group that built up a socially assistive robot called Tega that is intended to serve as a one-on-one associate learner in or outside of the classroom.

Ujjain is known as one of the most significant cities of the India as Singhastha 2016 just passed by. Singhastha is an event where Billions of devotees come to take a dip in holy river Shipra for whole One month. In Ujjain average total solid waste generation now is about 226 tons per day in the city area only. A huge amount of money is spent by the Local government on the solid waste management transportation to trenching grounds. The trenching grounds are situated at 20 Kms away from the city in different directions. Solid Waste Management also produces various problems which create many issues with wastage of money therefore; a big need for the ecofriendly disposal technique is been posted. In this paper we are proposing a technique known as vermicomposting which is a good solution to treatment of organic solid wastes. In this technique we have found the degradation of organic municipal solid waste by earthworms. In the research work the temperature is been maintained at 25-35°c, moisture content maintained about at 45- 55% and pH between 7.0-7.3. About 100 grams earthworms {Eisenia Fetida} per kilogram of municipal solid waste were taken. The final result shows that the organic municipal solid wasted are been converted to manure in a time period of 35 - 36 days through vermicomposting technique and about 63% volume of municipal solid waste is reduced for transportation.

Code reusability; retrieval; ambiguity; data mining
en
Modern programming languages, especially object oriented languages facilitate to create libraries of reusable components (e.g. class definition). The majority of software companies are designing the components and reusing those wherever applicable. Maintaining such components (i.e. class library) and accessing those at right time in right form is challenging because large no. of components in library. Object Oriented Programming supports the reusability of the code. The major challenge in programming is to improve the learning quality and productivity of the software developer, subject teachers and students. To support programming in Java, researcher implemented a design retrieval algorithm which will make it possible to search through potentially reusable Java classes. The proposed work, selects the appropriate descriptors of the inputted cases - .java files. It will separate the code components automatically and stores in the repository. The different levels of ambiguity in selection of cases are controlled through data preprocessing technique of data mining. The set of adjustments applied to get the similarity of the code components.

punching shear failure, brittle failure, critical section, self compacting concrete, truncated pyramid shape, shear stress
en
This research is to study the mechanical properties of Self Compacting Concrete (SCC) as well as punching shear failure of SCC slabs. Self compacting concrete was first invited in 1988 to achieve durable concrete structures .Design of Reinforced concrete slab is often compromised by their ability to resist shear stress at punching shear surface area. The connection between slabs and supporting columns could be susceptible to high shear stress and might cause sudden and brittle failure. Punching shear failure takes the form of truncated pyramid shape. This program includes investigating the effect of SCC, slab thickness on the punching shear behaviour in terms of load-deflection response and ultimate failure load, failure characteristic of punching shear failure (shape of failure zone and size of failure zone) of simply supported slabs of 1000 x 1000 x 50 and 75mm under concentrated load at centre of slab. The slabs are made with both SCC and Conventional concrete (CC). Investigation included two way specimens with different thickness to evaluate the performance of specimen with different thickness and the effect of thickness on punching shear capacity and performance.

VAWT, HAWT, Maglev Turbine.
en
Wind energy is the kinetic energy associated with movement of large masses of air. These motions result from uneven heating of atmosphere by sun creating temperature, density, pressure differences. It is an indirect form of solar energy The device used to convert kinetic energy of wind into electrical power is called a wind turbine. Vertical Axis wind power generators, represent a very promising future for wind power generation. In present study an attempt is made to utilize at low velocity wind below 4m/s for useful power generation using magnetic levitation for vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) termed as Maglev turbine. A single large Maglev turbine can give output more than conventional horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT). The rotor that is designed to harness enough air to rotate the shaft at low and high wind speeds while keeping the centre of mass closer to the base of yielding stability due to Maglev effect. The efficiency of turbine is increased by replacing the conventional bearings by magnets in repulsion; the magnetic levitation helps the turbine to spin at much faster rate as it eliminates the stresses on the shaft of turbine. The major components are placed at the ground level which ensures the safety of turbine.

carbon steel, surfactant, Biocidal efficiency, synergistic effect and Zobell medium
en
The inhibition efficiency of DMBP (Diethyl-4-methyl benzyl phosphonate) along with Biocidal action of CTAB and SDS on corrosion of mild steel in neutral aqueous medium has been evaluated by mass loss method, both in absence and presence of Zn2+. It is observed that DMBP exhibits 65% IE individually at ambient temperature. Synergistic influence of Zn2+ increases IE of DMBP to 71%. Addition of surfactants CTAB (N-Cetyl-N,N,N-Trimethyl Ammonium Bromide) and SDS ( Sodium dodecyl Benzene sulphonate) enhances the inhibition efficiency of DMBP from 65% to 96% and 92% respectively. The inhibitor system consisting of DMBP (200 ppm) + Zn2+ (90 ppm)+ CTAB (50 ppm) / SDS (40 ppm) offered maximum Biocidal efficiency (BE %) of 100% after killing of microbial bacteria present in aqueous system. FTIR spectra indicates the protective film consist of Fe2+-DMBP and Zn(OH)2.

Brain Tumor, Automatic Detection, Accurate Detection, Classification Accuracy
en
Even with the enormous progress in medical technology, brain tumor detection is still an extremely tedious and complex task for the physicians. The early and accurate detection of brain tumors enables effective and efficient therapy and thus can result in increased survival rates. Automatic detection and classification of brain tumors have the potential to achieve efficiency and a higher degree of predictable accuracy. However, it is well established that the accuracy performance of automatic detection and classification techniques varies from technique to technique, and tends to be image modality dependent. This paper reviews the state-of-the-art detection techniques and highlights their pros and cons.

Expansive soil, Fly ash, Nylon fiber, engineering properties, Unconfined compressive strength.
en
Black cotton soil is a expansive soil. And mostly found in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, this soil is highly unstable and it should be stabilize for carry out construction work. Materials like fly ash, rise husk, nylon fiber are used to make soil stable. Addition of such material will increase the physical, chemical and engineering properties of soil. Some of the properties which are improved are CBR value, shear strength, liquidity index, plasticity index, unconfined compressive strength (UCS) and bearing capacity, etc. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of fly ash in stabilization of Black cotton soil. Mainly UCS and other properties of soil were calculated. The tests were conducted on Soil-Fly Ash mixtures, by increasing the Fly Ash percentage in Black cotton soil like 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, and then the soil was tested on Soil-Fly Ash - Fibre mixture by adding the fiber in increasing order like 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%. Results were obtained for mixed proportion of 75% soil and 25% fly ash which has unconfined compressive strength of 173 KN/m2. And by adding 1% of nylon fiber in same proportion of soil – fly ash the unconfined compressive strength increased to 243.12 KN/m2. Increase in UCS value can help in reducing the thickness of earthen roads and pavements and increase the bearing capacity and shear strength of soil. With analysis of results it was found that the fly ash along with nylon fiber has good potential to be used as an additive for improving engineering properties of expansive soil.

Total quality management (TQM) is a set of opinions and ideas that widely called “management philosophy”. This management technique is able to assist the construction firms in improving continuously the organization's performance, in order to satisfy customers and survive in the market. The success of TQM implementation is tightly dependent on identifying and selecting the appropriate critical success factors (CSFs), quality tools, and performance measures (KPIs) within TQM framework. Doubtlessly, a set of suitable performance measures (indicators) has a significant role to verify and ensure that TQM implementation can successfully achieve its aims in the organization. Thus, the main purpose of this paper was to develop a suitable framework to assess the effects of TQM implementation on organization's performance in construction industry. For this aim, the study was conducted a comprehensive literature review to specify the existing key performance indicators (KPIs) from 26 TQM frameworks that formulated by scholars. In data analysis, the only 20 KPIs were found of 26 TQM studies. The extracted KPIs (20) classified based on four dimensions of balanced scorecard (BSC), and then arranged from highest to lowest frequency for each perspective of BSC. Finally, a total of ten KPIs were determined and presented within BSC system as an appropriate performance measures framework, which enables evaluating critical areas that very vital to the success of TQM implementation in construction firms at project and enterprise levels.

Isotopes; protons, Radiations, Agricultural products
en
In environment there are approximately 300 nuclei, containing of different components and their isotopes. Isotopes are nuclei having the similar number of protons and different number of neutrons. Radioisotopes can be applied in vast range of agricultural systems. Scientists are solving the mysteries of multitude agricultural difficulties, which could not have been conceivable with formal ways. Radioisotopes were used in many range of application such as killing insects which damage the food grains by radiations, determining the function of fertilizers in different plants and increase the agricultural produce. Fruits, cereals, canned food and vegetables can be stored for longer periods by moderately exposing them to radiations. Uses of radioisotopes applicable techniques are helping the researchers to find the answer of difficulties in much lesser time. Radioisotopes can be produce from different sources such as nuclear reactors and other atomic installations, and this situation have increased the use of radioisotopes in the agricultural systems. The current paper shortly illustrates the importance of radioisotopes and their radiation in the agricultural areas.

Automation of anti-suffocation system has become a very essential part of safety in automobile. The death of toddlers, disabled people and animals due to suffocation in locked cars has been a significant problem. Hence, there is a requirement for a system which autonomously operates with minimal power consumption and cost to overcome this sort of harm to human life. In this work an attempt has been made to develop a system that works invariably, irrespective of negligence of person handling the car. This system is a prototype vehicle model of how sensors and actuators can be appropriately used as a setup to overcome this problem. The setup consists of a prototype vehicle, with engine cut off and all the doors closed, a temperature sensor, a motion sensor, a microcontroller and actuator and the power supply is provided by a battery. Results indicate that, with the help of sensors and actuators window glass is lowered and circulation of fresh air takes place, temperature inside the car is lowered; this system prevents suffocation by intelligent sensing which works efficiently, this is an economical system without any compromise on its functioning.

Prolonging lifetime of wireless sensor network is a most significant problem due to energy constraint nature of sensor nodes. It is difficult to recharge nodes during network lifetime, to increase application area of WSN there is a need to design energy efficient clustering protocol for WSN. In this article there is a discussion about problems in Leach protocol and propose an improvement on the Leach routing protocol to reduce energy consumption and to extend network lifetime. Proposed self organized cluster based energy balanced routing protocol (SCERP) selects a cluster head node by considering probability based on ratio of residual energy of the node and the average energy level of nodes in network, and the geometric distance between the candidate node to the BS as key parameters. The outcome of simulation shows that proposed protocol is better than Leach in terms of balancing energy consumption of nodes and extending WSN lifetime.

adequacy criteria, automatic test case generation, test data generation

In the software testing a real way of measuring effective testing is that the system passes an adequate suite of test cases, and then it must be correct or dependable. But that’s impossible because the adequacy of test suites is provably undecidable. So we’ll have to settle adequacy Design rules to highlight inadequacy of test suites. Design rules do not guarantee good designs. Good design depends on talented, creative, disciplined designers and that can be the best test suite set to fulfill adequacy criteria.

Consider what has advanced innovation inside of the American culture in the course of recent years or somewhere in the vicinity. Was Orville and Wilbur Wright utilized by the administration. Obviously not. The greater part of their innovative work for the development of the plane occurred inside of a little bicycle shop in western Dayton, Ohio, the origination of avionics. Thomas Edison, who is authorize with 1,093 licenses winning him the epithet "The Wizard of Menlo Park" utilized his own cash to manufacture the Menlo Park research labs in New Jersey. In 1889 Thomas Edison built up the Edison General Electric Company. Thomas Edison is viewed as the most productive designer of our time and his innovations were made inside of the domain of private endeavor. Did the seed for the development of the PC sprout inside of an administration lab. The development of the PC originated from a grouping of different innovations and from the tinkering of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak in Job's carport in a range now called Silicon Valley. Their tinkering prompted the advancement of Apple Computers. The narrative of Bill Gates and the advancement of the Microsoft group of working frameworks occurred inside of private undertaking. The Windows group of working frameworks is the most generally utilized on earth and has been a noteworthy player in conveying data innovation to the created world.

The emerging High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard is a new improved next generation video coding standard. HEVC aims to provide improved compression performance as compared to all other video coding standards. To improve the coding efficiency a number of new techniques have been used. The higher compression efficiency is obtained at the cost of an increase in the computational load. In HEVC 35 modes are provided for intra prediction to improve the compression efficiency. The best mode is selected by Rate Distortion Optimization (RDO) process. It achieves significant improvement in coding efficiency compared with previous standards. However, this causes high encoding complexity. This paper discuss the various fast mode decision algorithms for intra prediction in HEVC.

Energy is the most important and crucial issue in the wireless sensor networks since the entire sensor nodes are battery powered devices. As a result, energy efficiency and prolonging network lifetime are a challenge. In order to increase the lifetime of the battery-based sensing nodes, it is essential to minimize the consumed energy in the sensing process. With this objective, specific erasure codes called fountain codes are introduced. Fountain codes' performances can be further improved if they are merged with the strategy of grouping sensor nodes into clusters. In order to reach the energy minimization and network lifetime prolonging, the first step, is to completely know the sources of energy consumption. In this paper, sources of energy consumption with various techniques used have been studied and investigated. Furthermore, a survey has been provided for the energy consumption model by using these two techniques.

In regular life, we perceive three conditions of matter: strong, fluid and gas. Albeit diverse in numerous regards, fluids and gasses have a typical trademark in which they contrast from solids: they are liquids, without the capacity of solids to offer a changeless imperviousness to a misshaping power. A liquid is a substance which distorts constantly under the activity of shearing strengths, however little they might be. With this article, we will look into the fluid bases with special reference to the chemical composition and resultant co-events.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has evolved from just being an experimental concept, and is now completely transforming the ways in which industries operate. Forbes calls the Internet of Things a giant network of connected things, with relationships between people and people, people and things, and things and things. We consider the problem of tracking physical browsing by users in indoor spaces such as retail stores[13]. Analogous to online browsing, where users choose to go to certain web pages, dwell on a subset of pages of interest to them, and click on links of interest while ignoring others, we can draw parallels in the physical setting, where a user might walk purposefully to a section of interest, dwell there for a while, gaze at specific items, and reach out for the ones that they wish to examine more closely. As our contribution, we design techniques to explore and track each of these elements of physical browsing using a combination of a smartphone shopping app which eases the customers' physical shopping experience and BLE beacons for [5]. We believe that access to physical browsing information of shoppers in retail stores can not only provide crucial insights into shoppers’ needs and interests but also reveal the effectiveness of the store layout itself.

Reinforced concrete bridges may have various systems: Beam (with simply supported or continuous beams), Frame, Arch, or combined of it.. Beam reinforced concrete bridges are the most common type, Spans with plate structure are generally used to cover gaps of 6–18 m. Ribbed spans with main beams supporting the plate of .The bridge floor are used to cover gaps of more than 12m. For gaps of more than 40 m, beam spans frequently have box shaped cross sections. Arch systems are most appropriate for bridges on stable soil. The spans of beam-type reinforced concrete bridges are up to 200 m; those of archer in forced concrete bridges, up to 300 m. The main advantages of reinforced concrete bridges are durability and relatively low maintenance cost. Precast reinforced-concrete bridges, using finished plant-Manufactured components, are the type primarily built in the USSR. Methods of suspension assembly of spans and delivery of precast components to local areas by ships are extremely efficient in the construction of large reinforced-concrete bridges.

A simple and noble respirometer in acrylic material has been designed and developed by ICAR-AICRP on Plasticulture Engineering and Technology Centre at ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture to study the oxygen consumption by fry, fingerling and advanced fingerling stages of fishes. The instrument is transparent, can be completely sealed air tight, and can store water and fish for experimentation. Water can be filled or drained manually at desired intervals, and the inlet and outlet hubs are fixed with screens to protect the fish seed to escape out of the respirometer during experimentation or water flow. Two models of respirometer were fabricated having dimensions of 10”x 10”x 10” and 11”x 11”x 11” with 18 L and 22 L water storage capacities respectively. The components of the respirometer are the transparent water tank with outlet hub containing drainage valve, transparent covering lid with inlet hub containing inlet valve and airway cap. The airway cap is provided in the lid to make a way for air to pass into the tank while draining water or out of the tank during filling of the water. The operation of the respirometer involves filling the tank with water, stocking the fishes, covering it with the lid, taking water samples for oxygen estimation in the start and end of the experiment.

Speech emotion recognition is an important issue which affects the human machine interaction. Automatic recognition of human emotion in speech aims at recognizing the underlying emotional state of a speaker from the speech signal. Gaussian mixture models (GMMs) and the minimum error rate classifier (i.e. Bayesian optimal classifier) are popular and effective tools for speech emotion recognition. Typically, GMMs are used to model the class-conditional distributions of acoustic features and their parameters are estimated by the expectation maximization (EM) algorithm based on a training data set. In this paper, we introduce a boosting algorithm for reliably and accurately estimating the class-conditional GMMs. The resulting algorithm is named the Boosted-GMM algorithm. Our speech emotion recognition experiments show that the emotion recognition rates are effectively and significantly boosted by the Boosted-GMM algorithm as compared to the EM-GMM algorithm.During this interaction, human beings have some feelings that they want to convey to their communication partner with whom they are communicating, and then their communication partner may be the human or machine. This work dependent on the emotion recognition of the human beings from their speech signalEmotion recognition from the speaker’s speech is very difficult because of the following reasons: Because of the existence of the different sentences, speakers, speaking styles, speaking rates accosting variability was introduced. The same utterance may show different emotions. Therefore it is very difficult to differentiate these portions of utterance. Another problem is that emotion expression is depending on the speaker and his or her culture and environment. As the culture and environment gets change the speaking style also gets change, which is another challenge in front of the speech emotion recognition system.

Cognitive Radio, Cooperative communication, relaying network, spectral efficiency
en
Cognitive radio holds great promise as a research area nowadays. By increasing the spectral efficiency, it is applicable to various areas where spectrum is a rare resource. Nevertheless, it still presents key challenges such as the interference and the false alarm possibilities. The community of research is committed to find the suitable solution in these cases. In some situations, it could be that the primary transmitter and the secondary receiver are very distant from each other and thus, direct communication is not possible. Relay nodes are used for establishing communication in such cases. Though selecting the best relay among others is a very difficult task. This paper offers a summary of cognitive radio, the significance of relaying network and the algorithm of relay selection.

Capitalizing on the low light in the sloppy waterways where it swims, the elephant nose fish gets by having the capacity to spot predators amongst the grime with an interestingly molded retina, the part of the eye that catches light. In another study, specialists looked to the fish's retinal structure to illuminate the configuration of a contact lens that can alter its core interest. Envision a contact lens that self-adjusts inside of milliseconds. That could be groundbreaking for individuals with presbyopia, a hardening of the eye's lens that makes it hard to concentrate on close protests. Presbyopia influences more than 1 billion individuals around the world, half of whom don't have sufficient redress, said the undertaking's pioneer, Hongrui Jiang, Ph.D., of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Keeping in mind glasses, traditional contact lenses and surgery give some change, these choices all include the loss of difference and affectability, and in addition trouble with night vision. Jiang's thought is to outline contacts that constantly change working together with one's own cornea and lens to recover a man's young vision.

This paper is a research work intended to present a comprehensive water quality modeling for predicting three water quality parameters (Chlorophyll (a), Turbidity and Secchi Depth) in typical Inland lake environments (Hussain sagar and Umda sagar) using Hyperspectral Remote sensing technique. They are estimated through regression models by combining the field Spectro-radiometer reflectance values with concurrent in situ ground data (Analytical) collected in the study area and correlated and validated with the available Hyperspectral data (Hyperion). A total of 180 in situ water sample and 900 spectral signatures were analysed during campaigns from 2010 to 2014 study period. The mean values of Chlorophyll-a varied between 6.983mgL-1 and 24.858mgL-1, Turbidity varied between 16.583mgL-1 and 48.867mgL-1 and Secchi depth varied between 0.104mgL-1 and 0.375mgL-1 over the study period considering the two lakes during pre and post monsoon seasons. The band ratios of the reflected spectra at R670/R710, R710/R740 and R710/R550 are used for the development of the mathematical model of chlorophyll-a, Turbidity and Secchi depth respectively. The trained sets of the pixels extracted from the hyperspectral data for pure spectra are processed for preparing the water quality distribution maps. When subjected to multi-variant statistical tests of significance, the models have yielded satisfactory R2 values. The model versus in situ analysis results demonstrated R2= 0.81% for Chlorophyll-a, R2= 0.81% for Turbidity and R2= 0.78% for Secchi depth correlation and that of model versus satellite data exhibited R2= 0.60% for Chlorophyll-a, R2= 0.66% for Turbidity and R2= 0.65 % for Secchi depth mean efficiency.

Robots have become a key technology in various fields. Robotic arms are mostly remote controlled by buttons or panels and sometimes in batch process they are autonomous. The usage of panel boards or control sticks includes a lot of hardwiring and subject to malfunction. It also induces some stress on the operators. Hence major chemical industries like cosmetic manufacturing, paint manufacturing and Biosynthesis laboratory etc., which deals with hazardous environment due to the chemicals and other bio substances, involve humans for the processing. The aim is to reduce the bulk of wiring in the robotic arms and reduce the effort and number of operators in controlling the robotic arm operations. To implement gestures into the process this would be a major breakthrough. This can also be used as pick & place robot, a cleaning robot in chemical industries where a human does not need to directly involved in the process of cleaning the chemicals and also for coating underground tanks.

The SMEs are an important part for world economy. The various categories of SMEs are spread throughout the world. In some cases they are competing with the big companies and at some instances they are working as vendor for supplying their spare parts and ancillaries. But there is a severe problem regarding quality of the product produced by them. In this paper an attempt has been made to improve the quality of the product by the help of Quality Control. For this , a particular SME firm has been studied and analyzed in order to give a solution of the quality related problems.

PC building design is the reasonable configuration and crucial operational structure of a PC framework. It is an outline and useful depiction of prerequisites and configuration executions for the different parts of a PC, concentrating to a great extent in transit by which the focal handling unit (CPU) performs inside and gets to addresses in memory. It might likewise be characterized as the science and specialty of selecting and interconnecting equipment parts to make PCs that meet utilitarian, execution and cost objectives.
